Fuel efficiency was barely effected by the addition of a more potent engine, holding at 20/29 mpg. The ES's 0-60 time dropped less than half a second to 8.2, and the difference from the 300 at full throttle was marginal. While the ES 300 was a bit sluggish off the line, it was nicely propelled through the higher gears. The 330 offered a slight improvement at best. While drivers had most frequently labeled the prior ES's as comfortable and reliable above all, many were starting to recognize that the new model could also be marked by true luxury.
